My Why

Coming from a family of small business owners I learned the values of hard work and responsibility along with the importance of community.  I enjoy working for a firm where we can celebrate our clients’ accomplishments and milestones together.  A previous boss once told me I was the heart of the team.  It is because I get fully invested in people.  I love working here because our clients feel like family.  Communication is the key to making sure our clients feel loved, valued, and respected.  I have strategic oversight of our client appointments and our advisors’ calendars to help keep an open and consistent line of communication with our clients.   I help streamline communications and also organize events, assist with marketing, and help where needed.  I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this team.

My Experience

In 1997 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from UNC at Chapel Hill.  Upon graduation I moved back to North Wilkesboro to sell life and health insurance along with helping my dad in the cosmetic renovation of a couple of homes he flipped.  I loved it so much I purchased my own home to renovate on my own and resell for a profit.  I then used the profits to fund my relocation to Wilmington, which had much more to offer.  Shortly after I moved to Wilmington, I began my professional career in an administrative role with US Cellular Corporation.  During my 13 years with them, I quickly moved up the ranks and into an Agent Account Executive role where I received numerous awards for executing business growth strategies with our small business Agent locations with a specific focus on Training, Operations, Merchandising & Marketing, and Sales.  When my husband and I became pregnant with our 2nd child, I decided the most important thing for our family was for me to stay home with our children to help build a solid and loving foundation of faith and family.  Now I am excited to be once again back in the work force.

My Personal Life

I am so happy I moved to Wilmington in 1998 because it is where I met Randy Barrington, my soul mate.  We married in 2004 and 5 years later began our family.  We have 2 amazing boys Eli and Lincoln, that are 3 years apart and best friends. In my free time I enjoy traveling, singing with my husband in the car or the kitchen while cooking dinner,  eating at “fancy” restaurants (as my child calls it), coaching my boys sports teams, being a board member of the Parent Advisory Council in their school, and just spending time with my family.  Faith also plays a large part in my life.  I have been a member of First Baptist Church in Wilmington since 2003, where I participated in several ministries most notably the Jail Ministry where I spent 10 years counseling female inmates.  I currently mentor a former inmate, and continue to enjoy watching her transform her life and be all that she can.

Let’s talk.

The first step in deciding if we are the right team to help you make better decisions is to have a 15-20 minute conversation to get to know each other.  During this call, I will ask a few questions to get a feel for where you are in your journey as well as what you are looking for from an Advisor. I will also answer your questions about our firm and fees.  Rest assured this is a no-judgment call, we are here to help.  Feel free to use this online scheduler or you can call 910.679.4370 to have our team schedule it for you.
