In college I began investing and learning all I could about investments and personal finances, I looked back at some of the financial decisions my family made and wondered how different their future would look if they had an Advisor coaching them to make better decisions. With this in mind, as well as an ever increasing craving for knowledge, I refocused my studies and goals. Rather than pursuing a career in law, I set my focus to becoming a trusted Advisor.
I decided that I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others plan and work towards their personal goals. I wake up with the aspiration of helping my Clients make better decisions and enjoy what is most important to them. This drives me to continually increase my knowledge and improve my planning process.
In 1996, I began my professional career as Legal Assistant with Clark & James, PA. In 2001, After completing Graduate School, I began my career in the financial services industry as an Investment Representative with Edward Jones. Six years later I resigned from Edward Jones to establish my own firm, Haines Financial, LLC. It was then that I fulfilled my dream of becoming an Independent Financial Advisor, having more control over my practice and gaining more freedom in helping my clients make better decisions.
Our family’s daily goal is to make God proud. We find continued guidance and encouragement from many avenues but greatly from the community surrounding Port City Community Church. My wife and I volunteer while ours sons insure that every adult is capable of answering any and every question that comes to mind about our faith. We find further joy in many outlets but have a deep passion for East Carolina University (ECU) Academics and Athletics. I attended ECU to play football and successfully warmed the bench during the 1994 season. While I was great at keeping that bench warm I decided to hang up the pads and join the cheerleading squad as the school Mascot, Pee Dee the Pirate. It was this life changing decision that caused me to cross paths with a member of the ECU Dance Team, my future wife. In my spare time I enjoy golfing, martial arts, woodworking and relaxing with my family. I currently serve on the Executive Board for the Cape Fear Council of the Boy Scouts of America, I serve as the Committee Chair for Cub Scout Pack 215, I’m a member of the Cape Fear Rotary Club and serve as a local Representative for the East Carolina University Pirate Club.
